In order to understand the forces influencing the pace and nature of technological changes in agriculture, it is useful to view the agricultural sector, and agricultural technology, within the global context of factors shaping technological change and innovation. Technological innovation is an essentially interactive process, involving linkages and networks among different organizations and actors, particularly industrial enterprises.
