Economic appraisal of silvipastoral systems vis a vis traditional agriculture in Shivalik foothills

An economic appraisal is made of 2 silvopastoral systems in comparison with a traditional cropping system in Chandigarh. The silvopastoral systems were: (1) Leucaena leucocephala var. K-8 (for fuelwood, as the upper storey at 2x2 m spacing) + Leucaena leucocephala var. EL Salvador (for fodder, as the understorey at 0.5x0.5 m spacing) - the LL system; and (2) Leucaena leucocephala var. K-8 + Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum) under it at the same respective spacings - the LN system.
