Economic aspects of innovative activities in private industries

Models are derived to discuss the basic determinants and patterns of the development, adoption and diffusion of innovations in private industries. In chapters 2-5 theoretical issues associated with the economics of research and development are discussed. Chapter 2 deals with the basic discussion of the implication and limitations of the theoretical treatment. Therefore the simplest version of the model, the case of monopoly, is presented.
