Economic aspects of sorghum in farming systems in Queensland

Economic aspects of sorghum in farming systems in Queensland

AIAS Occasional Publication ( 68): 452-456

Grain sorghum is selected by farmers in accordance with its profitability compared to other crops and the additional benefits sorghum can provide in a farming system. These include rotation benefits, reduced farming costs and grazing for livestock. Sorghum has been an attractive crop for farmers on the Darling Downs in Queensland, Australia in recent years, but is much less significant in the drier areas of Queensland.
