Economic aspects of the eradication programme of Boophilus spp. in Mexico

The basic objective of the National Tick Eradication Campaign in Mexico has been the eradication of the various species of the genus Boophilus through the use of acaricide treatments on livestock. The analysis of the economic aspects of the programme is described. Economic considerations are basically concerned with profitability, losses, recouping of losses and the cost of the programme, all of which are discussed.
