Economic development or developing economics: what are our priorities?

Most observers believe that the world's Malthusian concerns have been alleviated to a large degree. In their view, contemporary economics and technology have been applied successfully to development, especially of agriculture, in both the Western and developing world. The paper argues that this view is incomplete, misleading and a recipe for the ultimate failure of development.
