Economic effects of the EC agricultural reform as regards crop production

Economic effects of the EC agricultural reform as regards crop production

Berichte uber Landwirtschaft 71(1): 12-38

The detailed effects of CAP reforms on German farmers' incomes under different growing conditions are examined. Taking into account crops of wheat, barley, rye, oats, maize, rape, sunflowers, field beans and oil crops by conventional and extensive methods with and without premiums, it is shown that while there is a considerable loss of income to farms in good locations, incomes in poor locations are improved. Some general decision making rules for smallholders are developed.
