Economic efficacy of chemical control of lentil blight

Nine fungicides namely Benlate, Cobox, Captan, Deconil, Dithane M-45, Liromanzeb, Ridomil, Topsin and Trimiltox forte were tested on a lentil variety Masoor-85 for controlling lentil blight (caused by Ascochyta lentis). Daconil significantly reduced the disease incidence and gave grain yield of 729 kg/ha. This fetched net return of Rs. 9.862/ha with Cost : Benefit ration (CBR) to tune to RS. 1:3.54. Daconil as followed by Captan and Liromanzeb. The CBR was Rs. 1 : 3.50 and 1:2.90 respectively. All the fungicides treatments proved better than control.
