Economic losses resulting from infertility in cows

Economic losses resulting from infertility in cows

Zootekhniya ( 2): 54-55

Studies in the Chelyabinsk and Ryazan regions and in the Bashkir Autonomous Republic indicate that the main causes of cow infertility are incorrect feeding, management, and insemination techniques, and diseases of the reproductive system. On Bashkirian collective farms, with a cow population of 481 300 at the beginning of 1989, there was an estimated calf shortfall of 86 600.
