Economic modelling of arable farms in Southern Flevoland with regard to the environment and EC policies

In order to gain some understanding of the extent to which the profits of arable farms in Southern Flevoland, Netherlands, are influenced by EC policies (CAP, MacSharry proposals) and changes in environmental policies, a model was created, using linear programming, of an arable farm in the area. The model contains economic and environmental parameters so that the consequences for incomes as well as for the environment could be looked at.
