Economic performance of dairy farms in 1991

Zemedelska Ekonomika 39(1): 31-44

Costs and returns of dairy farming in Czech Republic were determined on the basis of data from 48 farms with average herd size of 649 cows and 70 pregnant heifers. Milk yield was 12.6% down on the previous year and prime costs averaged Kcs 5.16 per day, per cow. Input prices increased 60%-70% over the year and productivity decreased markedly.
