Economic rationale of tribal farming in western Himalayas: a study of Pangi valley of Himachal Pradesh, India

This paper is concerned with the underdeveloped nature of tribal communities living in the Western Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh, India. In order to study existing farming patterns, a survey adopting a two stage stratified random sampling technique and involving a sample of 115 farmers randomly selected from the Pangi valley was carried out.
