Economic status of sheep farmers in semi-arid region of Rajasthan

Economic status of sheep farmers in semi-arid region of Rajasthan

Wool and Woollens of India 30(4): 7-13

This paper looks at the economic status of sheep farmers in the semi-arid area of Rajasthan, India. A survey was undertaken in six villages, Malpura, Chandsen, Bheepur, Amli, Dholi and Lawa of the Tonk district of Rajasthan. The sheep farmers were categorized on the basis of land holding size into three groups: marginal farmers(<1 ha); small farmers (1-2 ha); and other farmers (>2 ha). Most of the farmers had some goats in their flocks and a few also possessed cattle or buffalo.
