In a field experiment in 1989-91 at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, sugarcane Co 7318 given 300 kg N/ha produced a mean cane stalk yield of 92.50 t/ha which was similar to soil inoculation with Azotobacter chroococcum and application of 225 kg N (94.60 t).
