Effect of cutting schedules and nitrogen levels on the yield and quality of forage sorghum under various sowing dates

Sorghum HC-136 grown for forage at Hisar in the kharif seasons of 2 years was sown on 10 or 25 Apr. or on 10 May, cut 65, 75 or 90 d after sowing (DAS) and at flowering, and given 60-100 (1st year) or 60-120 (2nd year) kg N/ha. Green fodder yield was highest after 25 Apr. sowing, while DM yield was similar from 25 Apr. and 10 May sowing dates.
