Effect of different levels of N on growth and yield of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.)

, : Effect of different levels of N on growth and yield of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.). Indian Agriculturist 35(2): 107-111

C. sativum seeds were sown in a sandy loam soil (pH 6.2) and N was applied (as urea) at 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 or 100 kg/ha, half at the time of sowing and the rest one month later. Crops were harvested at full maturity. Plant height, number of branches per plant, number of umbels per plant, number of seeds per plant, 1000-seed weight and seed yield were greatest (90.62 cm, 5.66, 31.67, 202.60, 8.939 g and 23.24 q/ha, respectively, averaged over both seasons of the trial) with 40 kg N/ha.
