Effect of different levels of glycerol and yolk on freezing and storage of buffalo semen in milk, Tris and sodium citrate buffers

, : Effect of different levels of glycerol and yolk on freezing and storage of buffalo semen in milk, Tris and sodium citrate buffers. Buffalo Journal 8(2): 151-156

Semen was frozen in diluents containing combinations of egg yolk (5, 10 or 20%) plus glycerol (3, 6 or 9%) and milk, Tris buffer or sodium citrate. Sperm motility was measured before and after freezing and during storage for up to 72 h in a refrigerator. The results showed that 5% egg yolk + 6% glycerol in milk or Tris gave the best results for freezing.
