Effect of different modes of pollination on yield of sunflower and niger

, : Effect of different modes of pollination on yield of sunflower and niger. Journal of Insect Science 6(1): 75-77

Studies on different modes of pollination at different sowing dates of sunflower and in five varieties of niger were carried out during rabi 1986 and 1987. Significant increase in yield by bee pollination (71.8 to 86.8) and open pollination (133.9 to 177.3) over without-insect pollination were observed at sunflower in different dates of sowing while in niger, these yield benefits were 2.4 to 44.4 and 33.6 to 81.3 per cent respectively in different varieties.
