Effect of different seed size fractions on germination in sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.)

, : Effect of different seed size fractions on germination in sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.). Seed Science and Technology 20(3): 703-710

Germination was studied in 5 seed classes of the monogerm sugarbeet hybrid NS-H-92, NS-Hy-11 and NS-M-1 and the monogerm standard KW-Maja. The smallest seeds (3.0-3.25 mm) imbibed most water, while percentage germination was highest in the largest (4.5-5.0 mm) seeds.
