Effect of different stresses on flowering in the carrot cultivars Nantes and Brasilia

, : Effect of different stresses on flowering in the carrot cultivars Nantes and Brasilia. Horticultura Brasileira 10(2): 121-122

The carrot cultivars Nantes and Brasilia were subjected to different stresses (transplanting, removal of leaves or parts of the tuberous root or primary root, or water stress) at 3 different growth stages which were determined by plant FW and designated stages A, B and C. Transplanting Brasilia, with and without leaves, enhanced bolting and flowering but practically no such response was noted in Nantes.
