Effect of different tillage methods on sunflowers and some soil properties and energy consumption of these tillage methods
Mouldboard and chisel ploughs, a subsoiler and a rotary cultivator were studied to determine their energy consumption and their effect on soil properties and crop yields. Results are presented in tables and bar charts. It was found that max. energy consumption was 1089.2 MJ/ha for the subsoiler in a straw-covered plot, and min. was 524.5 MJ/ha for the chisel plough with no straw.
