Container grown seedlings of Leucaena leucocephala and Gliricidia sepium raised in the nursery were separated into 2 groups: one was placed in open direct sunlight, and the second under the shade of an oil palm (Elaeis guineensis). Seedling heights were measured 7 and 14 days later and shoot dry weight production after 14 days only.
