Effect of drought on subterranean clover. 1. Leaf water relations of plants subjected to rapid or slowly-induced drought

Effect of drought on subterranean clover. 1. Leaf water relations of plants subjected to rapid or slowly-induced drought

Photosynthetica 27(3): 413-419

ISSN/ISBN: 0300-3604

Development of water stress in Trifolium subterraneum plants, in growth chambers or in the field during autumn-winter and late spring, was studied with daily irrigation to replenish the evaporated water, no watering (NW), and with replenishing daily with a fraction of the water evaporated to slowly induce drought (SID). The method used to induce drought substantially affected leaf water relations.
