Effect of drying temperature on the quality and quantity of alkaloids in the raw material of some medicinal plants

Effect of drying temperature on the quality and quantity of alkaloids in the raw material of some medicinal plants

Rastitel' nye Resursy 27(3): 100-108

In trials in 1988 and 1989, leaves and other aerial parts of 7 species (Chelidonium majus, Macleaya cordata, Corydalis solida, Lupinus polyphyllus, Atropa belladonna, Datura stramonium and Hyoscyamus niger) were harvested during flowering and the beginning of fruit bearing. Batches 15-20 g in weight were subjected to different drying temperatures (20, 40, 60, 80 or 100 degrees C) without ventilation.
