, : Effect of energy supply on performances of dairy cows fed with hay-based ration. Productions Animales 5(5): 339-346

Over 2 years, 48 Abondance dairy cows were freely fed on alpine meadow hay and concentrates 1, 2 and 3 kg daily, respectively, for 3 weeks before calving at the beginning of December. In week 1 of lactation concentrates were increased by 0.25 kg/day; cows on treatment H were given 2 kg more concentrates than cows on treatment L; composition of the concentrates was adjusted to provide the same nitrogen supply for all cows.
