Effect of enzyme addition (protease plus amylase and tannase) on the nutritive value of faba bean hulls in chickens

Recent advances of research in antinutritional factors in legume seeds Proceedings of the Second International Workshop, Wageningen, The Netherlands, 1-3 December 1993: 523-527
Effect of enzyme addition (protease plus amylase and tannase) on the nutritive value of faba bean hulls in chickens
Effect of enzyme preparations in diets containing faba bean hulls was studied in 2 trials with Leghorn chickens. In trial 1, 0, 10 and 15% hulls were used with a combination of enzymes (proteinase and amylase). Performance of birds was significantly decreased with 15% hulls, but enzyme supplements improved liveweight gain in chickens given diets with 10 and 15% hulls and feed:gain of chickens given 15% hulls. Feed intake was not different.
