Effect of enzyme preparations in diets containing faba bean hulls was studied in 2 trials with Leghorn chickens. In trial 1, 0, 10 and 15% hulls were used with a combination of enzymes (proteinase and amylase). Performance of birds was significantly decreased with 15% hulls, but enzyme supplements improved liveweight gain in chickens given diets with 10 and 15% hulls and feed:gain of chickens given 15% hulls. Feed intake was not different.
