Effect of exclusive feeding of paddy straw on macro and micro elements in rumen liquor, blood, plasma and tissues in buffalo calves (Bubalus bubalis)
Feeding of rice straw exclusively to buffalo calves resulted in a decrease in copper and zinc concentrations in whole blood, plasma and rumen fluid. Calcium and iron concentrations decreased in whole blood and rumen fluid. Manganese increased in rumen fluid and tissues. Cu content of liver decreased whereas Zn concentration was lower in organs such as forestomachs, liver, intestine, testis, skin and hair.
