Effect of extrusion on protein degradation in the rumen
Four duodenally fistulated bulls, body weight 420 kg, were fed on diets containing meadow hay 2.7 and concentrates 5.3 kg, which contained 65.7% maize and 0 or 31.8% extruded pea/rapeseed oilmeal mixture. 4 crossbred calves, 125-155 kg, were fed on diets containing meadow hay 1.4 and concentrates 2.4 kg, which contained 0 or 34% extruded pea/rapeseed oilmeal mixture.
