Effect of farmyard manure on availability of phosphorus to wheat (Triticum aestivum) in soils of different physico-chemical properties
In a pot experiment, wheat WH 283 was sown in sandy (Entisol), sandy loams (Aridisols and Inceptisols) and clayey (Inceptisol) soils supplied with 0 or 0.5% FYM (on a DW basis) and given 0, 10, 40 or 60 p.p.m P as potassium phosphate. K was equalized at 100 p.p.m. using KCl in all treatments. Shoot DM yield, shoot-P concentration and P uptake increased exponentially with increase in available P.
