Effect of feed antibiotics on blood morphology and mineral components and meat quality of broiler chicks
Astra B broiler chicks in groups of 24 were given from 8 to 54 days old complete feed (starter/finisher) ad libitum supplemented with zinc-bacitracin 50/25 (control), avoparcin 7.5, lincomycin 2, flavomycin 5, or virginiamycin 5 mg/kg. Compared with control the weight gains of chicks given lincomycin and flavomycin were higher by 4.3 and 6.4% (P<=0.05), while feed conversion efficiency (kg/kg) was better by 2.3 and 3.6% with avoparcin and lincomycin, respectively.
