Effect of fertilizer application and weed control on the yield of mustard (Brassica juncea)
In a field experiment at Madhopur, Bihar, the highest B. juncea seed yield of 1.32 in t/ha 1986-87 and 1.51 t in 1987-88 was obtained from band placement of 80 kg N + 40 kg P + 40 kg K/ha at sowing followed by band placement (40 kg each of N, P and K at sowing) + broadcasting (40 kg N at 1st irrigation), broadcasting (40 kg each of N, P and K at sowing) + band placement (40 kg N at 1st irrigation) and broadcasting.
