Effect of fertilizers and irrigation on soil moisture content and the dynamics of root mass in winter wheat

In 3-year field trials on light soil, wheat Grana was given 4 NPK rates comprising 35, 70, 105 or 140 kg N + 25, 40, 60 or 80 kg P2O5 + 40, 60, 80 or 120 kg K2O/ha, with 0, 20 or 35 mm irrigation water. Roots were sampled by a monolith method. The course of soil moisture changes in different soil layers during the growing season is shown graphically. The average weight of root OM was 1.16, 1.42 and 1.38 t/ha at the 3 irrigation rates, respectively.
