The effect of mineral fertilizers on soil humus and total N, and on cotton yields in a cotton-lucerne (Medicago sativa) rotation was studied on a serozem soil in northern Mugani, Azerbaijan. The application of mineral fertilizers increased soil phosphate, calcium and other nutrient levels.
