Effect of fertilizers on sunflower yields

, : Effect of fertilizers on sunflower yields. Agrokemia es Talajtan 42(3-4): 282-292

In small-plot trials in 1988-91 on a calcareous meadow soil rich in humus, sunflower hybrids were given 0-150 kg P2O5, 0-180 kg K2O and 0-150 kg N/ha. N application caused a slight increase in achene and oil yields but the oil content was reduced by up to 2.5%. Application of >50-100 kg N was not considered worthwhile. P2O5 application increased achene and oil yields and 30-60 kg/ha was recommended. Optimum yields were obtained with 60 kg K2O.
