Effect of four chitin synthesis inhibitors on adult citrus psylla, Trioza erytreae (Del Guercio) (Hemiptera: Triozidae)

, : Effect of four chitin synthesis inhibitors on adult citrus psylla, Trioza erytreae (Del Guercio) (Hemiptera: Triozidae). Journal of the Southern African Society for Horticultural Sciences 3(1): 44-45

The effects of topical application to adult Trioza erytreae of the chitin synthesis inhibitors buprofezin, flufenoxuron, hexafluron and triflumuron were investigated in the laboratory. A small percentage of eggs laid by treated insects developed normally, but most nymphs were unable to free themselves from the chorion, or were malformed and unable to attach themselves to leaves.
