Effect of granular N fertilizers on growth and grain yield of rice



International Rice Research Notes 18(2): 24



Rice grown on a Vertisol in Andhra Pradesh in the 1991 dry season was given 90 kg N/ha as prilled urea (PU), large granule urea (LGU) or urea supergranules (USG), 26.4 kg P/ha as single superphosphate (SSP), diammonium phosphate (DAP) or large granule DAP (LGDAP), and 33.2 kg K/ha. Grain yield was 2.9 t/ha without fertilizers and 4.8-6.4 t/ha with NPK application. Yield was highest with USG + LDAP followed by USG + SSP (6.1 t/ha), and among treatments given NPK was lowest from PU + SSP.
