Effect of intake of perilla oil or corn oil and 2-acetylaminofluorene treatment on lipid peroxidation, prostaglandin Esuperscript 2 and thromboxane B2 productions in rats

Effect of intake of perilla oil or corn oil and 2-acetylaminofluorene treatment on lipid peroxidation, prostaglandin Esuperscript 2 and thromboxane B2 productions in rats

Korean Journal of Nutrition 25(5): 351-359

From weaning, Sprague-Dawley rats were given semisynthetic diets with 15% tallow (BF), maize oil (MO) or perilla oil (PO). After 3 weeks, half the rats in each group were given the hepatocarcinogen 2-acetylaminofluorene (AAF) 50 mg/kg body weight by intraperitoneal injections on 3 occasions with 2-day intervals. All were killed 8 weeks after the first injection.
