Effect of integrated management practices on the yield and economics of crops under high intensity multiple cropping systems

A field investigation was carried out at Coimbatore (India) during June 1986-May 1988 to study the yield potential of different high-intensity multiple cropping systems with varied N levels and biofertilizers under garden land. Among the N-management practices, combined application of 100% recommended N and biofertilizer gave higher economic yields in cereals, whereas pulses and other vegetable and oilseed crops performed well at 75% recommended N level and biofertilizer application. Both these practices were found superior to application of 100% recommended N alone.
