Effect of nitrogen fertilization, plant spacing and steckling size on certain morphological characters and seed yield in radish (Raphanus sativus L.)

In trials conducted from 1979 to 1981, radish (cv. Pusa Reshmi) stecklings received N at 0, 50, 100 or 150 kg/ha and were spaced at 60 x 30, 60 x 45 or 60 x 60 cm. Stecklings were 7.5 or 15 cm in length at planting in mid-Dec. Plant height, number of primary, secondary and tertiary branches/plant, number of pods/plant, diameter of the main shoot and seed yield/plant were greatest with 150 kg N/ha and a spacing of 60 x 60 cm.
