In a field trial in the rainy season of 1988 in deep black soils at Siruguppa, Karnataka, groundnuts JL 24 were given 25 kg N/ha at sowing with or without a top dressing of 25 kg N/ha at 30 or 45 d after sowing, or 25 kg N at sowing + 25 kg N + ZnSO4 or FeSO4 as a 0.5% foliar spray or soil application of 10 kg/ha at 30 d after sowing.
