Effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and GA3 on yield and chemical composition of guava (Psidium guajava L.) cv. Allahabad Safeda during rainy season

Twenty-year-old guava plants (cv. Allahabad Safeda) were sprayed with urea (2 or 4%), single superphosphate (2%) and GA3 (50 or 100 p.p.m.), alone or in combination, in the first week of Jan. 1987 and 1988. Highest yield (77.35 and 84.46 kg/tree in 1987 and 1988, respectively) and fruit ascorbic acid content (245.43 and 255.67 mg/100 g fresh pulp in 1987 and 1988, respectively) were obtained with the 4% urea + 2% single superphosphate + 100 p.p.m. GA3 treatment.
