Effect of some agronomic traits in Bothriochloa ischaemum on the production of green and dry forage

Turrialba 41(4): 545-550

The contribution of plant vigour, height, number of ears, ear length, leaf/stem ratio, crown area, crown diameter and stubble volume to summer green forage yield and autumn dry matter yield was evaluated by means of path coefficient analysis. Plant volume, crown area and vigour had the major effects on green forage yield, while stubble volume, number of ears and crown diameter were the most important for dry matter yield.
