In microplot trials on light soil in 1987-89, triticale Maja sown at depths of 2, 4, 6 or 8 cm yielded 657, 641, 616 and 590 g grain/msuperscript 2, respectively. Sowing at 6 or 8 cm depth reduced plant density and delayed emergence.
