Effect of sulphur and molybdenum application on dry matter yield, uptake and utilization of soil and fertilizer-sulphur in raya crop (Brassica juncea Coss)

The effects of S and Mo application on the uptake and utilization of soil and fertilizer-S on DM yield in B. juncea were investigated in pot trials. All combinations of 4 rates of S (0, 30, 60, 90 p.p.m.), 3 levels of Mo (0, 0.5, 1.0 p.p.m.) were applied to plants grown in sand and sandy loam soils. DM yields increased with increasing rates of S application up to 60 p.p.m. in both roots and shoots. There was no response to Mo in either soil type.
