Effects of dietary monounsaturated fatty acids levels on plasma lipid metabolism in rats. 2. Response surface analysis between monounsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids on plasma fatty acids levels

Effects of dietary monounsaturated fatty acids levels on plasma lipid metabolism in rats. 2. Response surface analysis between monounsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids on plasma fatty acids levels

Korean Journal of Animal Sciences 35(3): 205-210

Response surface regression analysis was carried out to estimate dietary optimal response levels of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) and saturated fatty acids (SFA), as a way to minimize plasma SFA contents and to maximize plasma MUFA contents or ratios of MUFA to SFA in rats. Contour plots and 3-dimensional plots were helpful to predict optimal response conditions, on plasma levels of MUFA and SFA or ratios of MUFA to SFA, which were influenced by dietary MUFA and SFA levels.
