In a field experiment in 1985-88 at 3 sites in South Africa, L. albus Kiev was sown in rows 200, 300 or 400 mm apart at 100, 125 or 150 kg seeds/ha. Significant interactions were found between sowing rate and row spacing at low rainfall and poor distribution during the reproductive stage.
