Efficacy of Ivomec pour-on against gastrointestinal nematode parasites of cattle

, : Efficacy of Ivomec pour-on against gastrointestinal nematode parasites of cattle. Bulletin of Animal Health and Production in Africa 40(3): 205-207

The efficacy of "Ivomec pour-on" (ivermectin, 500 micro g/kg bwt) as an anthelmintic for gastrointestinal nematode parasites was investigated in 10 cattle in Nigeria. There were significant reductions in the average faecal egg counts for post-treatment days 5, 11, 29 and 56 when compared with those of 5 untreated control animals. Percentage efficacy ranged from 96.0% at day 5 to 94.7% at day 56.
