Efficacy of a g III-/TK- modified live Aujeszky's disease virus vaccine against experimental dual infection with Aujeszky virus and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae in pigs
An attenuated Aujeszky virus vaccine with deletions in the thymidine kinase and glycoprotein g III genes was administered to four 4-week-old SPF pigs. There were 4 unvaccinated controls. All pigs were challenged intranasally with Aujeszky virus (106.0 TC1D50/pig) and serotype 1 A. pleuropneumoniae (106.2 CFU/pig) at 7 and 8 weeks of age, respectively.
