Efficacy of cholecaliferol and flumetasone in preventing hypocalcaemic parturient paresis in cows

Injection of 10 mega-units of cholecalciferol at 271 days of gestation, followed by 5 mg flumetasone 8 days later, prevented parturient paresis in all but one of 25 cows, while it developed in 5 of 25 untreated cows.
