Efficacy of ivermectin against sarcoptic mange of camels

, : Efficacy of ivermectin against sarcoptic mange of camels. Indian Journal of Veterinary Medicine 11(1-2): 76

Skin scrapings of 36 dromedaries, aged 4-8 years, showing clinical signs of mange were examined for the presence of mange mites; Sarcoptes scabiei "form cameli" were found in 17 cases. Ivermectin was given s.c. to 14 of these animals as a 1% solution (200 micro g/kg body weight), with the remaining 3 animals being left as untreated controls. Skin scrapings were examined for mites on alternate days after treatment.
